Fox eyeing Intelligence
by: Oct 29, 2007 Print

Fox is eyeing a remake of Intelligence for the U.S. market, and has ordered a pilot script from creator Chris Haddock and copro partner John Wells, looking to possibly put an American version of the CBC crime series on air sometime next season.

The pair - brought together by an agent at CAA - pitched the project to Kevin Reilly, the Fox exec who, before his ouster at NBC, greenlit such notable series as 30 Rock, Heroes and The Office. Reilly is also behind this season's new arrivals Life and The Bionic Woman.

Haddock tells The Globe and Mail that the would-be series "will change substantially in adaptation to an American setting...I believed that the series had great potential as an American franchise and John Wells agreed. We'll see how it goes."

Wells has exec produced series including ER and The West Wing, and has had a hand in notable films including The Notorious Bettie Page and One Hour Photo. Haddock is already a hit on the American syndication market, where Da Vinci's Inquest has reached four million viewers per week. Season two of Intelligence bowed Oct. 1 on CBC.
