Dance comes to Canada
by: Oct 29, 2007 Print

Following on the success of Canadian Idol, Susanne Boyce and Simon Fuller have unveiled plans for So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Boyce and CTV announced at MIPCOM that they will partner with Fuller's 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions to Canadian-ize the international dance competition franchise.

CTV, which already has a hit with Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, said the ink was barely dry on its deal for the Canadian format rights, so it had no details on a Canadian producer for So You Think You Can Dance Canada or the proposed series' host and judging panel.

Canada's latest homegrown reality TV series will include a nationwide search for talented hoofers, with auditions, call-backs and performance and results episodes winnowing contenders down to an eventual winner.
