• Nelvana has struck a deal with HP Video Merchant Services to put much of its vast animated catalogue on the Net. Shows such as Braceface and Tales from the Cryptkeeper, among others, will soon be available in online stores as DVDs on demand in the States.

• CTV has signed with Dick Clark Productions and 19 Entertainment to make a Canadian version of So You Think You Can Dance.

• Peace Arch Entertainment has bought the worldwide rights to The Babysitters starring John Leguizamo and Cynthia Nixon. The deal includes theatrical, television and DVD rights for the film, which is slated to hit cinemas in spring 2008. Peace Arch has also signed a worldwide deal to distribute the Sudz Sutherland miniseries Guns, due to air on CBC in fall 2008.

• Thunderbird Films and Swiss distributor Daro Film teamed up at MIPCOM to buy the CBC mini Dragon Boys and the RCMP docudrama To Serve and Protect: Tragedy at Mayerthorpe. Daro will handle the international.

• ThinkFilm has picked up the U.S. rights to Battle in Seattle from its producers at Insight Film Studios and Remstar, following talks with sales agent Endeavor Independent.

• Shaftesbury Films has sold its kids comedy series Life with Derek to Disney Channel Japan. The deal, signed at MIPCOM, covers the first 26 half-hour episodes of the live-action program.
