In addition to naming the 10 most influential TV-related websites, the Bell Fund has also chosen top digital media up-and-comers as its Ten to Watch.
Toronto's Daisy Chia, one of these young talents, studied animation at Vancouver's Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design, but gravitated towards digital media after a summer job at Toronto television and new media company Hop To It Productions.
After graduating from Emily Carr in spring 2007, Chia joined Hop To It for a summer internship that was supported by the Bell Fund's apprenticeship program. As a paid intern, Chia says she was exposed to many facets of the company's digital media and television projects.
Chia continues to work at Hop To It on a contract basis, and recently completed work on a Bell Fund proposal for Pop It, a kids dance show and website in development with TVO.
