Telefilm Canada has announced sweeping changes to the Canada Feature Film Fund in a bid to put more English- and French-language films on screens. The changes take effect next year and include easier access for English producers to "performance envelope" funding.

Border-straddling distributor ThinkFilm has been sold to L.A.-based financier and producer David Bergstein in a deal made public on Oct 24. Jeff Sackman will continue to run its operations from Toronto as president and CEO. The value of the deal was not disclosed. Bergstein also recently bought U.K.-based Capitol Films.
