The Canadian Television Fund at 10
CTF by the numbers
by: Oct 30, 2006 Print

$1.95 billion
The CTF's investment in Canadian TV production since its inception

20,895
Total hours of Canadian TV produced with CTF funding. The CTF supports an estimated two-thirds of all productions with 10 out of 10 CAVCO points

$250.6 million
Amount CTF distributed to 488 productions in 2004/05

$157.4 million
The 2004/05 amount that went to TV production in Toronto and Montreal, which are considered centers and non-regions. The regions received $78.2 million for TV production, with B.C. claiming $34.7 million of that. Feature films received $15 million

37%
The amount of CTF money currently committed to the CBC. An open-ended CRTC edict gives the Ceeb the largest broadcaster share of the fund, but a return to CBC's 50% cut of the CTF's Equity Investment Program - circa 1998 - is unlikely
