The Hot Docs board of directors has expanded with appointments from both the public and private sectors. National Film Board commissioner Jacques Bensimon and Cineplex Entertainment executive VP of film and marketing Michael Kennedy join the board, bringing its number to 15.

According to a release from Hot Docs, the new additions will "join the board's 13 current members, overseeing the organization's activities."

Before becoming NFB commissioner, Bensimon worked in a broad range of capacities, including COO of the Banff TV Foundation and head of feature film acquisitions for TFO, the French-language sister of TVOntario.

Prior to his work at Cineplex, Kennedy served in management roles at Famous Players and Norstar Releasing.
