Bernard Couture won best feature cinematographer of 2005 at the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards on April 8 in Toronto for his work on Le Survenant - beating out Pierre Gill (Maurice Richard) and René Ohashi (Saint Ralph).

Ohashi, however, took the award for best lensing on a TV drama for the CBS MOW Stone Cold, while Glen Winters won for best work on a TV series for the "Lexmas" episode of Smallville.

Robert McLachlan was presented with the Kodak New Century Award for his body of work, which includes titles from The Beachcombers to Final Destination 3. Bill White of film equipment supplier William F. White won the Fujifilm Award for his contributions to the CSC, while Ralph C. Ellis, founder of Ellis Entertainment, was awarded the Bill Hilson Award for his role in developing the Canadian film industry.
