Whole New Thing for Buchbinder
by: Jul 4, 2005 Print

Palpable Productions and Acuity Pictures have wrapped on the feature Whole New Thing from director Amnon Buchbinder (The Fishing Trip). The film, written by Buchbinder and Daniel MacIvor (Wilby Wonderful), is about a young man who comes from a very sexually open family. At 13, he develops his first real crush, on his teacher, Don.

The film stars MacIvor, Robert Joy, Rebecca Jenkins, Callum Keith Rennie and newcomer Aaron Webber.

Camelia Frieberg (Wilby Wonderful) and Kelly Bray produced the film with funding from Telefilm Canada, the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, The Harold Greenberg Fund, tax credits and licence fees from CHUM and The Movie Network, with ThinkFilm on board as distributor. Frieberg also served as executive producer, with MacIvor associate producing and Anita McGee line producing. The film was shot in Halifax in January, and posted in Toronto at Deluxe and Tattersall Sound and Picture. Producer Bray says it is ready for festival consideration.
