*Alliance for children and TV creative program

L'Alliance pour l'enfant et la television/Alliance for Children and Television in Montreal is organizing a professional development day on the subject of generating ideas for children's programming, including event-based programming and adaptations. The day-long workshop takes place June 3 at Radio-Canada and will be moderated by Universite du Quebec psychologist Rene Berneche.

Registration deadline is May 19. Participation is limited to 60.

*Long Night's Journey featured at DOXA fest

The Grand Jury Prize winner for best documentary at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival opened the new doxa documentary festival in Vancouver, May 12-20.

Long Night's Journey Into Day, by Oscar-winning filmmakers Frances Reid and Deborah Hoffmann, chronicles the inner workings and psychological dynamics of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Long Night's Journey screened on May 12 at Pacific Cinematheque theatre and replaces a previously scheduled screening.
