Commercial Directions: D'Amato wins U.S. AT&T

Leroy Koetz, the jet-setting L.T.B. Productions director, is back from Milan where he shot two days for Volkswagen, resulting in a 30-second spot for international release. Christopher Gentile shot two days for Cheerios through fcb, with Barry Parrell the dop. topix is handling post and Third Floor's Barry McMann handled the edit.

Two 60-second at&t spots will be airing nationally in the u.s., the products of a two-day shoot directed by George D'Amato through McCann Erickson, San Francisco. The dop was Craig Mullens of Toronto.

Sean Tracey has just wrapped a prelight and three shoot days with dop James Gardner for Bell through BBDO Toronto. The result will be three 60-second spots and a 90. Post is being handled at Chameleon by Andy Attalai.

For Apple Box Vancouver, director/dop Hank Benson shot a pool of three drinking and driving psas through Wasserman & Partners. Jane Morris Berry will handle post.

Magic's Derek Case, having just shot a day for Kraft through bbdo, has another day slated for Wal-Mart through smw. Chris Berry will be shooting a day for Mattel through Ogilvy & Mather.

Imported Artists director Bob Purman has been busy on Bell work. He picked up two days through Leo Burnett for Bell Calling Cards, edited by Panic & Bob's David Baxter, and three Bell Canada days through bbdo, edited by Panic's Andy Ames.

Richard D'Alessio, with dop Andre Pienaar, shot four days in Costa Rica for Nabob through jwt. Mark Hajek of Partners' Post is the editor.

The team of Dalton Film's David Straiton and dop Parrell have picked up two studio days; a day for Cheerios through fcb and a day for McDonald's through Cossette.

Director/dop Simon Mestel of Avion recently shot two days for Chrysler through bbdo. Director John Alper also shot a day for Chrysler through bbdo, with Stan Mestel the dop.

Spy's George Vale is director, cameraman and editor for a two-day Benson & Hedges shoot through Saatchi. Jeff Eamer will be shooting two days with dop Pienaar for Japan Camera through Communique. Smash will handle post.
