Wolverine, Iron Man and the rest of the Marvel gang have a date with Teletoon, which on Friday revealed a multi-year output deal with the comic-book giant. Due to begin in the spring, the pact will deliver "a minimum of 182" episodes of first-run animation to the toon channel and its spin-offs, including rights for broadband, VOD, mobile and other platforms.
"Super heroes have always been key demo winners on Teletoon," said channel boss Len Cochrane in a release, noting that Teletoon is looking to build on its viewership both among boys aged 2-11 and older fanboys "who have grown up with the Marvel Universe."
Old and more recent Marvel shows already air on Teletoon and Teletoon Retro, as have a number of animated features.
First-run shows will air in Teletoon's Sunday morning block and again for after-school on weekdays. Some programming will also run in the older-aimed primetime block The Detour.
