Fox orders more Fringe
by: Oct 3, 2008 Print

Fox has ordered a full season of Fringe, extending the life of the sci-fi spooker seen here on the A channels by another nine episodes. The show is averaging some 10 million viewers per week in the U.S., says Fox, and has hovered around the one million mark on the As, roughly on par for Canada.

The show is simulcast, but will be absent from its Tuesday 9 p.m. slot on both broadcasters until Oct. 14, replaced here with the Sarah Polley movie My Life Without Me and coverage of the federal election.

Fringe is among the first renewals of the fall season. A's Canwest-owned competitor E! earlier this week lost the hotel-set sitcom Do Not Disturb when CBS pulled the plug, while Global saw its 90210 upped to a full season by The CW.
