Bardel Entertainment (Chaotic, Silverwing) has opened a one-person extension in Toronto, putting former YTVer Sarah Haasz (The Saddle Club, The Worst Witch) in place as director of development for the Vancouver-based animation shop.

Haasz was, until the recent layoffs at parent Corus Entertainment, a production executive for YTV, Treehouse TV and Discovery Kids and has some 1500 hours of original programming under her belt, according to Bardel. Her new job will see her liaise with Bardel's partners in Toronto and New York.

"It's a double-win for Bardel," said CEO Delna Bhesania in a statement.

Haasz will oversee development with the team in Vancouver and work on shows in production. She joins the creative team of Greg Huculak, Zoe Evamy and Tracey Mack.
