The ACTRA Performers' Rights Society has appointed Brad Keenan as its new director, effective immediately.

The former head of music, licensing and partnership marketing at Sony BMG Music Canada will be based in Toronto and will oversee all aspects of the bookkeeping branch of the actors' union, including the sound recording division.

Keenan, who has worked with organizations including the Canadian Recording Industry Association and the Audio Visual Licensing Agency, specializes in ensuring that compensation is received for the use of intellectual property rights through licensing of music and name, image and likeness rights.
